Francene Gayle, MD, is an experienced physician with more than 15 years of clinical experience. To make it as easy as possible for patients to access care, Dr. Gayle started a nonprofit outreach program utilizing a medical mobile clinic to deliver healthcare. This not only benefitted the homeless and underserved population, but also proved beneficial during the COVID-19 pandemic, when many patients would not venture to their doctors’ office to receive care. Dr. Francene Gayle has pursued advanced training in family medicine, pharmacology, chronic disease management, weight management and pain management, as well as nerve function testing and the pharmacologic treatment of addiction. Over the course of her career, Francene Gayle, MD, has earned a number of honors, including an Outstanding Patient Experience Award in 2016 and multiple Patient’s Choice Recognition awards. In 2011, 2012, and 2018, she was named among America’s Most Compassionate Doctors. A skilled speaker, Dr. Francene Gayle has presented at annual meetings of professional organizations and before the Administrative Office of Courts in Perdido Beach, Florida. She has spoken about the effects of HIV and hepatitis on populations with substance use disorders, as well as the pathogenesis of HIV and hepatitis infections and other generalized issues on HIV infection and how it impacts our community. In addition, she has addressed the importance of screening for and treating sexually transmitted infections as part of regular health maintenance. Earlier in her career, Dr. Francene Gayle worked as a pharmacist with Gentiva Health Services in Plainview, New York. In addition, she was a pharmacist and regulatory safety associate with Pfizer Pharmaceutical, Inc. Dr. Francene Gayle’s undergraduate studies at St. John’s University focused on pharmacy, and she subsequently earned her doctor of medicine from Howard University in Washington, D.C. While studying for her MD, she received the Hildrus A. Poindexter Award for Excellence in Family Medicine and the Howard University College of Medicine Award for Outstanding Achievement in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
